Blue Nile Freshwater Cultured Pearl and White Topaz Drop Earrings in Sterling Silver
Amazon’s Prime Day is live as of today, with clothing, home decor, sneakers, and beauty buys seeing impressive markdowns that are trumping those of years past. But, with our inboxes flooded by Prime Day notifications and every last person we know talking about what they managed to snag during the annual shopping holiday, things can get a bit overwhelming.
We’re here to suggest some of our favorite Prime Day alternative sales that you can shop today — filling your cart with swoon-worthy jewelry from Blue Nile; gorgeous Zimmermann gowns sold by Net-a-Porter; viral Madewell bucket totes from Nordstrom; recently released makeup essentials like Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Butter, on sale now at Bloomingdale’s; and not-to-miss bedding bundles blessed by Brooklinen’s Big Deals Sale. The discounts here are ones to write home about, courtesy of retailers that are offering up to 70 percent off on the season’s latest and greatest, as well as the staples that you’ve used for years and still can’t get enough of.

Case in point? Net-a-Porter’s rewards program includes free global shipping and a personal shopping assistant at its highest tier; Nordstrom’s Nordy Club membership lets you earn points while gaining early access to its Anniversary Sale, as well as exclusive, invite-only events; and the Bloomingdale’s Loyallist program sends curated monthly offers to your email and lets you rack up points fast, all while offering free shipping with no purchase minimum.

Blue Nile
Being the world’s original online diamond jeweler, Blue Nile is a go-to destination for heirloom-quality accessories. The digital-forward brand specializes in engagement rings, “I do”–worthy wedding rings, birthstone jewelry, and chic collections that will complement your everyday style, meaning it has something for everyone to fall in love with at first sight.
If you needed an extra excuse to shop Blue Nile’s covetable, glittering pieces, know it has just kickstarted the Smart Luxury promotion running until July 26: marked by discounts of up to 30 percent off on trendy and timeless jewels. The discount code is applied automatically, so you need not worry about that, instead devoting your time to finding the gems that will please the woman in your life. Indeed, the on-sale picks — including diamond pendant necklaces, 14-karat gold tennis bracelets, and minimalist hoop earrings that will catch the sun’s rays — work flawlessly as a gift for the wife, mom, or girlfriend who seems to have everything and yet, naturally, always wants more.
Skims
Whether it manifests through a giant balloon installation of Kim Kardashian’s bikini-clad body in the heart NYC or a Roberto Cavalli collaboration that became iconic almost as soon as it landed in shoppers’ laps, there’s always something going on and worth talking about in the world of Skims. Including its sales. Though Skims favorites see the most worth-it discounts during the brand’s buzzy Bi-Annual Sale, at which time everything on the site is 30 percent off, the peak of summer is also a grand time to purchase the shape-hugging bodysuits, swim staples, and cover-ups in sumptuous fabrics that you’ve long had on your radar.
Right now, for instance, Skims is running a 30-percent-off promotion on its Fits Everybody collection — one of the most-loved — but we’ve also spotted even steeper sales, like $8 thongs, the Skims Ultra Fine Mesh Picot Mini Dress for half off, and 40 percent (versus the predicted 30) off the Fits Everybody Lace Push-Up Bra. The TL;DR of all of this? If your lingerie needs a lil’ refresher or you want a new cropped hoodie for colder summer nights, Skims is the place for you, and you don’t need to wait for its Black Friday–adjacent sales to save big.
Net-a-Porter
When in need of a few designer items across categories like fashion, home decor, beauty, and more, you head to Net-a-Porter: plain and simple. Luckily for those with good taste and high standards, the luxury retailer is coming in hot with summer sales of up to 70 percent off on charming straw bags; smart slingback pumps; wedding guest dresses in the season’s most desirable hues; and wool blazers that will work just as well in your frigid office during the summer as they will outdoors, once the leaves start to turn.
Thanks to the Net-a-Porter rewards program, you can unlock special perks like a treat on your birthday, access to insider-only sales, free global shipping, and even your own shopping assistant to weigh in on whether those jeans really go with that camisole. Yes, Amazon Prime member benefits are cool, but these just might be cooler (in any case, you’d be hard-pressed to find an Acne Studios handbag slashed in price by 60 percent on Amazon!).
Nordstrom
Every summer, like clockwork, Nordstrom unveils its Anniversary Sale: punctuated by unprecedented deals on fall fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle items. This year, Nordstrom’s 2025 Anniversary Sale kicks off on July 12, but if you’re a Nordy Club cardholder — a major incentive to shop at the retailer — you might find that you already have access to the shopping event.
What to expect? For starters, 65 new-to-Nordstrom brands that are blessing us with on-trend silhouettes and materials, as well as returning brands we’ll never not be obsessed with. The labels you know and love, like Marc Jacobs, Coach, Vince, and more, will be putting up their bestsellers for up to 50 percent off… and we just know discounts this good won’t last long.
You’re likely already interested in becoming a Nordy Club member just to get your hands on all of these goodies faster than everyone else — successfully staying ahead of the shopping (and style) curve. Becoming a member of this club won’t cost a cent at its most basic level. Already achieved Icon status by spending $15,000 a year on your Nordstrom credit card? The great news is that you can shop the Anniversary Sale starting today. The rest of us will have to wait until the weekend, curating our dream shopping carts in the meantime. For those stumped on what to grab, here’s some inspiration.
Alex Mill
Alex Mill is in the business of bringing people straightforward fashions that dismiss trends and instead focus on what’s timeless and high-quality. Some of its all-time bestsellers include striped cardigans, straight-leg jeans, denim overalls, and the button-up Mill Shirt, a hero product. Whether you’re a brand devotee or are just hearing about it now and want to try out some styles, Alex Mill is hosting a sale on women’s and men’s must-haves: with key styles marked down by 40 to 70 percent.
Our interest is already piqued by that 50-percent-off ribbed tank in a primary color that will go marvelously well with your light-wash cutoff shorts; the polka-dotted midi dress that looks oh-so-Parisian, decreased in price by $137 with all sizes still available; and the simple, half-off polo for matching to your work trousers and athletic shorts both. Just know that whatever you end up scoring at Alex Mill this summer, it will carry you all through the season and beyond.
Free People
Free People is the “It” brand on TikTok, where content creators swoon over its bohemian-coded, Gen Z–approved selections that marry affordability and top-notch design. Fortunately, Free People’s sale section is bursting at the seams right now — featuring longline shorts made for pairing with cowboy boots, oversized crewnecks you’ll be tempted to throw on over your bikini once the sun goes down, and similar seasonal essentials.
While you’re perusing the site for savings, don’t forget to check out Free People’s pre-fall collection full of sumptuous patterns and attractive shapes, as well as its Sandals Shop: the latter a stylish incentive to embrace the Gigi Hadid–backed flip-flops and anklets trend.
Ulta
Moving on to the world of beauty, Ulta comes in clutch with its Big Summer Beauty Sale that always turns out to be one of the most memorable shopping happenings of the year. Wrapping up on July 19, the sale boasts “buy one, get one 40 percent off” deals on celebrity-loved skin, sun, and body care products like the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, cosigned by Olivia Wilde; 30-percent-off discounts on top curling irons; and major reductions in price affecting cult-favorite brands from Vacation to Shark Beauty.
In case your nose could use a little cheering up, there are also hit perfumes on sale for up to 40 percent off, and, if you already have enough makeup but not enough makeup removers, the Kim K–used Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes have dropped in price by 30 percent. But that’s just scratching the surface.
Dermstore
Dermstore’s skin care, hair, and beauty sale is going strong this summer, with markdowns neither your wallet nor your makeup bag will be able to resist. One of the leading beauty retailers today, Dermstore’s selection is both wide-reaching and high-quality: perfect for when you need to re-purchase those Oribe shampoos you’ve used to the last drop, the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant that has won the hearts of both Olivia Culpo and Kaia Gerber, and other top products from household-name brands.
Though Dermstore’s sale section is always chock-full of deals that appear too good to be true but are, alas, true, summer is the best chance to snag the serums, sunscreens, and under-eye patches that have long been in your online shopping cart — for less.
Bloomingdale’s
Another beloved retailer that dabbles in luxe beauty, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and home finds, Bloomingdale’s is known to host a good sale. Right now, you can take up to 25 percent off select items spanning the aforementioned categories, until July 13. Plus, being a Loyallist (a fancy name for those who consider themselves Bloomingdale’s insiders) makes you eligible for a $25 reward on every $100 you spend purchasing items excluded from the discount event.
Beauty-wise, our shopping editors have spotted some stellar deals… and it’s only the first day of the Bloomingdale’s sale extravaganza! From Jo Malone cologne sets that will let him know he’s the man of your dreams to Armani Beauty foundations TikTok can’t stop raving about, these fan-faves will serve as the perfect gifts for others or self-care buys — you choose. Many of the beauty products, including the ones highlighted below, are new-to-Bloomingdale’s and new-in-general releases, so you can be one of the first people to try them out: all while preserving the health of your wallet.
Brooklinen
Brooklinen is one of our editors’ most-prized bedding companies, and we’ve personally tested out a host of its top-selling sets — like the Classic Percale Hardcore Sheet Bundle, whose fabric is crisp, breathable, and slightly matte; the Washed European Linen Core Sheet Set, recently redesigned to be more wear and tear–resistant; as well as the Dreamweave Waffle Bed Blanket for sleepers who enjoy rich textures and thermoregulating Turkish cotton. Guess what? Everything we just listed is 15 to 30 percent off at Brooklinen now, in honor of its Big Deals Sale.
While everything is up to 30 percent off sitewide, you can finally secure the airy, warm weather–ready bedding sets, pillowcases, and duvet covers of your dreams… or else gear up for the inevitable winter ahead of us by turning your attention to heavier sheets and plush bathrobes that will wrap you in luxury. And unlike at Amazon, Brooklinen’s trendiest pieces come with special treats at checkout, such as a free canvas tote (yes, the one everyone seems to be hauling around city streets these days).
Anthropologie
Babe, wake up: Anthropologie’s Fourth of July sale is here, and while this quintessential American holiday might be over, the retailer’s price reductions are alive, well, and beckoning you to click “add to cart.” The summertime sales event is particularly affecting Anthropologie’s vast and attention-grabbing home category — with deals of up to 40 percent off on furniture, decor, candles, and more. No matter if you want to say “yes” to the current butter-yellow fascination through gorgeous taper candles that flaunt over 1,000 hearts on the site or have eyes for the Organic Cotton Sateen Printed Sheet Set that’s not only breathable but also dotted with tiny lemons (!!), there’s something here to suit everyone’s interior design tastes and needs.
As a bonus, Anthropologie’s home accessories double as lovely housewarming or hostess gifts, so you can spend less time worrying about what to get the newly moved-in couple or the Hostess of the Year: time better invested into enjoying the dog days of summer.
Ruggable
Everyone’s favorite washable rug, pet bed, and pillow company — Ruggable, of course — is having its Anniversary Sale right now, similar to Nordstrom, and is inviting everyone to join the celebrations via 20-percent-off sitewide deals. Simply use the code EIGHT at checkout, and proceed to indulge in your newly acquired Sunrise Bath Mat, Snow Leopard Sapphire Flatwoven Rug by Jonathan Adler (part of the brand’s original collaboration with designer Jonathan Adler, which just got a continuation), and Tin Fish Doormat, a pitch-perfect entryway into today’s food-as-decor trend.
The beauty of Ruggable’s offerings is that you can, as mentioned before, put them in the wash to eliminate the stains bedeviling the rugs’, doormats’, and pillows’ most-trafficked areas. All Ruggable rugs also come with pads for a no-slip grip you can rely on, and you can easily customize their size to fit the parameters of your rooms. What’s not to love?
